A very young inexperienced GC team, that they have fielded in awhile. Despite the ages.
Kind of like Burton having 12 seniors and only 5 senior starters.
Those 5 double the play time the others have had.
Means a lot at the varsity level.
On both sides? For such a big game. I can't believe that. This was a huge game for CW and it's fans.
This was one of those games where CW wins they can have a great shot at the playoffs. Same for GC.
I figured this would be standing room only?
You all keep talking about them being young, but how many seniors does gate city have/play. I know 2 out of 3 seniors start for clintwood and the one that doesn't start gets some PT.
Plenty of empty seats. There are bandwagon fans in the LPD especially Gate City. And I'm not talking about Quincy. I know his reasons and I can sypathize. They have some real hostility going on at Gate City.
You guys are showing improvement, Jimmy. It should help alot when you get the starters back that were injured and didn't play tonight (2 lbs, 1 te). When Counts gets a couple more starts at qb he should be better as well. Not bad for his second start tonight.
GC has the numbers most don't. Usually when they field a team that has played together your looking at 20 or more senior and half that is starters.
Big difference when you get to the schools most other Div. 2 teams.
One reason this was a big W for CW.
Most GC teams that you see Jr/Sr oriented have come up and stayed together from p-nut to varsity. Not quite the same this year.
That's what we've been telling you. I don't care if they are pre-k, we beat Gate City.
Honestly thought if i got to go to a game to go to this one.
One reason to scout GC and just to see what i figured would be a great game as it was.
I had to work and miss Appy @ Coeburn.
But i never would of thought the crowd would of been less than standing room only for this game.
Esp. with the playoff implications.
You could of pitched tents in the stands. I was disappointed.
It had me wondering. I thought maybe the cold? The game was much too big a game to be that quiet.
